Career
Gleason had many film roles, such as Vigilante Force (1976), Fort Apache the Bronx (1981), Tender Mercies (1982), Trading Places (1983), The Breakfast Club (1985), Die Hard (1988), Rich Girl (1991) and Miami Blues (1999). He also had roles on many TV shows, which, along with his appearance on GL, also included Adam-12, Columbo, Hill Street Blues, Dallas (The original series), L.A. Law, Walker, Texas Ranger, Dawson's Creek, Cold Case, and Drake & Josh.
Death
Gleason passed away on May 27, 2006 from mesothelioma, a rare form of lung cancer that is linked to asbestos.
