About Dr. Lisby
When Mr. Needles gets sick, the family takes him to the pet clinic, as Dr. Lisby examines him and runs an X-ray on him to find that he has a tumor; among the choices he offers to George and Angie are to either 1) have him perform surgery on the dog to remove the tumor, which would cost about $3,000, which George balks at, or 2) Have Mr. Needles put to sleep, which would still cost $150, which George also balks at, after which George and Angie take Mr. Needles back home with them.
When they take the dog back to Dr. Lisby for a follow-up, he, after he runs another X-ray on Mr. Needles, can't find the tumor which he first found, as he explains it must be miraculous, which Max, who prayed for Mr. Needles to get well, attributes the healing to. What Dr. Lisby is able to find is a heart-shaped earring that belonged to Angie, who said "I've been looking for that!", that had disappeared; it turns out that the dog swallowed it, as Dr. Lisby says to Angie "And you'll be finding it soon!"
